Hi, I'm Shuangting Yao, an artist-educator and researcher working at the intersection of critical maker culture, computational media, and decolonial pedagogy.

My practice investigates how technologies like AI and physical computing can be harnessed to create culturally-sustaining and equitable learning spaces. I pioneer curricula that bridge Eastern philosophy with computational creativity, most notably as the architect of China's first public high school course on AI-generated art.

Through both scholarly research and hands-on making, I explore a central question: how can technology become a bridge for cultural continuity and student agency, rather than a force of homogenization? My work aims to transform technology education into a practice of critical inquiry and poetic world-building.
